Lions Club of Lilydale
The Lions Club of Lilydale is a small club within the Shire of Yarra Ranges with around 20 members who meet on the 4th Tuesday of each month 7pm at the Old Lilydale Court House. The club was formed and chartered in 1974.
Many strong friendships both within and outside the club have been established through our activities which are focused on Lilydale, the Yarra Ranges, and adjoining areas of Melbourne.
We are ordinary people doing extraordinary things in our Community - supporting people with a disability, the underprivileged and needy, community greening, and fundraising for worthwhile local, national, and international causes.
Be a part of the change. Be inspired. Make a difference. Join the Lions Club of Lilydale.
We are the Lions
We meet the needs of our local communities and the world.
Our 1.35 million men and women in 207 countries and geographic areas conduct vision and health screenings, build parks, support eye hospitals, award scholarships, assist youth, provide help in time of disaster and much more.
Lions Australia has a proud history of achievement and helping the most needy in the community. Think about disasters like Cyclone Tracy, the Black Saturday bushfires and the Queensland floods Lions were there helping in practical ways. Think about the Bionic ear, the Cervical Cancer vaccine Gardisil, Fred Hollows Lions were there in the early days funding research and health strategies long before they became household names. Think too, about the local parks, monuments, sporting centres and facilities built by your Lions Clubs; built by people who saw a need and got down to the job of meeting that need, with their ideas, skills and labour.
Join us in making our communities and the world better places to live.
Becoming a Lion
Lions club members are men and women who strive to make a difference in
their local community as well as in communities worldwide. Their
volunteer efforts go beyond the support of vision care, to addressing
unmet health and education needs worldwide.
